Fiction Aficionado 
“It was 2 p.m. on the afternoon of May 7, 1915. The Lusitania had been struck by two torpedoes in succession and was sinking rapidly, while the boats were being launched with all possible speed.” The Secret Adversary, by Agatha Christie.
This is two sentences, however, the first sentence alone wasn’t enough. I love Agatha Christie and this book is Tommy and Tuppence! YAY! Enjoy!

I am currently reading The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney.
First line says “Because the three Plumbs had agreed on the phone the previous evening that they should not drink in front of their brother Leo, they were all- unbeknownst to one another- sitting in separate bars in and around Grand Central, savoring a furtive cocktail before lunch.”
I loved the irony in that statement and it hooked me in!

I’m currently reading Cynthia Ruchti’s A FRAGILE HOPE, but I’m at work and her book is on my nightstand. The book closest to me now is IN THE BEST INTEREST OF STUDENTS. 🙂 Nobody’s interested in “Years ago, when the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation went into effect….” 🙂 However, if anyone has Cynthia’s book at hand and wants to add the first line for me… 😉

I don’t read many suspense/thriller books but I really liked that book!
