Top Ten Tuesday – Ten Series Recommendations for Lovers of Small-Town Settings

Top Ten Tuesday is back! The girls at The Broke and the Bookish have given us a certain amount of free rein this week with the topic of Ten Book Recommendations for . . .  After much umming and ahhing I decided I would do some series recommendations for those readers who lover small-town settings. Because when you find a place you really like, you want to be able to keep visiting, don’t you?

The Walker Family Series (Melissa Tagg)

Ahh, Maple Valley. I love these characters, and I’m super excited (and a little bit sad) that the final book in the series, All This Time is releasing next month on 28 September 2017. Don’t forget you can pre-order until then for just $3.99!

The Mended Hearts Series (Varina Denman)

Small-town politics can get ugly, especially when the church is involved, but this series delivers exactly what its name promises: mended hearts.

A Place to Call Home Series (Cathleen Armstrong)

Welcome to Last Chance, New Mexico. This is another series where some lost and wandering souls find the peace they are looking for. And let’s not forget one of my favourite secondary characters, Elizabeth Cooley, for her love, compassion, and wisdom.

Tales from the Goose Creek B&B Series (Virginia Smith)

This town has some wonderfully quirky residents, alongside the respectable and almost-retired Al Richardson and his wife, Millie. Great for a light, engaging read.

The Backroads Series (Christina Coryell)

Small-town doesn’t get much smaller than Hope Canyon, but these characters will pull you right in. The first book in this series releases one week from today, on 22 August 2017. My review will be coming soon. And don’t forget it’s available for pre-order for just $0.99 until it releases!

The Other Way Home Series (Sally John)

This is an older series, but I fell in love from the minute Gina Philips and Brady Olafsson met in Podunk— er, Valley Oaks’ library. That’s book one, chapter one, in case anyone was wondering! 😉

Farm Fresh Romance Series (Valerie Comer)

This is a sweet and engaging series about three young women (at least, to begin with) who are starting their own farm and committing themselves to sustainable living.

The Christiansen Family Series (Susan May Warren)

I could have listed any number of Susan May Warren’s series, but I’ll go with this one. To be fair, the whole series doesn’t take place in the town of Deep Haven, but as Deep Haven is the location of the family’s historic Evergreen Lake Resort, it still has that small-town feel.

Mitchell’s Crossroads Series (Pepper Basham)

If you haven’t discovered Reese Mitchell—or Mama Mitchell, for that matter—then get yourself off to Mitchell’s Crossroads quick smart. Fun and flirty, and the next in the series, Charming the Troublemaker releases in November! Eep! Can’t wait!

The Shores of Moses Lakes Series (Lisa Wingate)

“There’s something about Moses Lakes that changes people.” And if you’ve ever read any of Lisa Wingate’s novels, you’ll know what a wonderful storyteller she is!
