First Line Friday – 8 September 2017 – A New Shade of Summer (Nicole Deese)

Happy Friday to you, where ever you are. And with all the natural disasters threatening at the moment, particularly in the States, I pray that where ever you are, you are safe.

If you’re looking for a read to help you escape the here and now for a little while, I can highly recommend today’s pick—although you’ll have to wait to Tuesday to pick it up. Nicole Deese’s new release, A New Shade of Summer, releases on 12 September and I promise you will very quickly fall in love with Callie, Davis, and Brandon.

~ About the Book ~

As an artist, Callie Quinn relies on inspiration to guide her wandering soul. This summer she accepts a short-term muralist job in her sister’s charming town to spend some much-needed time with her family. After meeting her nephew’s friend, Brandon, she’s eager to draw out his untapped artistic talents—however, it’s the boy’s straitlaced single father who could use a little color in his life.

I cruised past the WELCOME TO LENOX sign with my arm fully extended out the car window and my freckles happily populating under the sun’s intoxicating rays.
