Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Want For Christmas

Merry Christmas! Since this is the final Top Ten Tuesday post before Christmas, I thought I’d get in early. 😊 We’re going with a Christmas theme today, too, thanks to the girls at The Broke and the Bookish: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings.

Whenever someone asks me what I’d like for Christmas, I usually um… and ah… and then eventually come up with ‘An Amazon gift card never goes astray’. The trouble then, though, is the agonizing decision over which of the approximately 5,397 books on my TBR I will purchase with said gift card—mostly because, once I have my gift card in my hot little hand, approximately 5,390 of those books on my TBR slip my mind, and I’ll be paralyzed over the seven I can actually remember. What if I actually want one of the 5,390 books I can’t think of right at this moment more than one of the seven I can remember? I know I’ll think of it as soon as I’ve pressed the ‘purchase’ button!

First World Problems, I know. But this list presents a similar dilemma. So, first of all, I’ve limited myself to books that I want to read that I don’t actually own yet. That cuts the list down more than I care to admit! I’ve scoured my ‘Want to Read’ list on Goodreads (which probably only has about 5% of my overall list of ‘Want to Reads’ anyway, and includes books I currently own, but haven’t found time to read yet). Others came to me in a flash of inspiration, most likely because they are 2017 releases I couldn’t fit in or they’re books that keep coming to my attention and reminding me they’re waiting. For better or worse, (and with apologies to all the books I left out) here’s my Christmas wish list, in no particular order:

The first six books on my list are 2017 titles that I just couldn’t manage to squeeze in for review (or didn’t know about at the time they released). Here’s hoping I will find time in 2018!

 

After reading Lori Benton’s Many Sparrows earlier this year, I really want to read more about two of the secondary characters, Wolf-Alone and Wildcat. Their story is told in The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn. And The Carpenter’s Daughter is the only one of Jennifer Rodewald’s books I don’t own yet, and I’ve been told (repeatedly!) that I HAVE to read it.  (Yes, I’m looking at you Sarah Monzon! 😉 ) Now I’m going to do something about it!

 

Rounding out my list are two series that I’ve begun and am eager to continue. The first is April Gardner’s Beneath the Blackberry Moon series (so good!) and the second is Jessica Dotta’s The Price of Privilege series. Both of these are multi-book sagas, so I need to keep reading to get the full story.

I think that’s quite an exciting and varied collection, don’t you?
